FAQ
Will my Vanuatu Marriage be legal?
Yes, but as in most jurisdictions, there are some legal requirements that must be met. To find out more, visit our legal info page.
Where can I get married in Vanuatu?
We can arrange your wedding in any location or resort in Vanuatu. Click here to view some of the more popular choices available, or contact Sarah and the team at Events Vanuatu to discuss finding a unique spot just for you.
Who helps me plan my Island Wedding?
Sarah Sands, the CEO of Events Vanuatu, and her team will work closely with you to plan, coordinate and manage your wedding. Sarah is an experienced Wedding Coordinator and Event Manager. She has lived in Vanuatu all her life. She knows the pitfalls of planning a wedding in Vanuatu without the help and guidance of a local, experienced Wedding Planner.
What is the most unusual Wedding I can have?
This is not for us to say - the choice is yours. What's ideal for some could be a nightmare for others! For example, you might be into sky-diving or scuba diving in which case, getting married in mid-air or 15 metres under water might be right up your alley! It's often not what the wedding couple want to do - it's whether the rest of the bridal party can handle it!
What will the weather be like?
The beauty of Vanuatu is that it has a tropical climate. This means that it is seldom cold but you should check with your dedicated wedding coordinator that your proposed wedding date doesn’t fall in cyclone season. As experienced wedding planners, we always have a wet-weather back-up plan.
How can I keep my budget under control?
Consider selecting an existing Wedding Package. To keep your budget in control, go for a Package and stick to it. Don't start requesting foods that may not be readily available in Vanuatu, as this may result in additional freight and storage costs.
When should I contact a photographer?
It is extremely important for you to book your photographer at an early stage. If this is not done, you can very easily find that there isn't one available. At Events Vanuatu, we use our own professional wedding photographer, Andrew Read.
When should we send out invitations?
Give your guests as much notice as possible. This means sending out the invitations early or at the very least, sending out a ‘Save the date’ notice. It's also a good idea to give them the names and contact details of Travel Agents who can assist with guest accommodation - they may be able to give your guests a better deal or upgrades for group bookings.
What transportation is available?
Your wedding coordinator will make recommendations and any necessary arrangements for getting you and your guest to the ceremony and reception.
Any other advice?
- From experience, we advise that you don’t drink Kava if you have heart problems or suffer from epilepsy.
- Ni Vanuatu are a conservative culture so please be sure to dress appropriately when in public.
