The legal requirements for getting married in Vanuatu are quite straightforward.

1. An "Intended Marriage Form" must be lodged 3 weeks prior to your wedding, plus: -

1. Copies of each party's Birth Certificate; and
2. Copies of each party's Passport; and
3. You must pay the requisite Application fee.

Note:

• If you have been previously married, your Divorce Certificate or former spouse's Death Certificate.
• If you are an Australian Citizen, your marriage in Vanuatu will also be legally recognised in Australia, provided you comply with the requirements referred to here.
• We recommend that the wedding couple be in Vanuatu for 3 working days prior to the ceremony (although this is not a legal requirement as such).
